Most issues can be resolved by following our step-by-step guides below. For complex problems, check our GitHub issues.
Pro Tip
Before troubleshooting: Clear your browser cache, ensure you're on Mainnet-beta, and have at least 0.001 SOL for transaction fees.
SOL Burner Troubleshooting
Having trouble with our token burning feature? Here are solutions to common SOL burner issues.
Why this happens:
Our SOL burner only shows tokens that are safe to burn. Some tokens are automatically protected.
Solutions:
- Check token balance: Only tokens with a positive balance appear in the burner.
- Protected tokens: High-value tokens like USDC, USDT, or wSOL are hidden by default for your safety.
- Token-2022 compatibility: Some newer tokens require special handling. Our advanced SOL burner supports most Token-2022 standards.
- Refresh your wallet: Click "Re-scan Wallet" to update the token list.
- Check wallet connection: Ensure you're connected to the correct wallet containing the tokens.
Pro Tip: For tokens that don't appear, try transferring a small amount to another wallet first. This often resolves display issues.
Common causes:
- Insufficient SOL for transaction fees
- Token has burn restrictions
- Network congestion
- Token is not a standard SPL token
Step-by-step solutions:
- Check SOL balance: You need at least 0.000005 SOL per transaction. Maintain 0.001 SOL for multiple burns.
- Verify token compatibility: Our SOL burner supports standard SPL and most Token-2022 tokens. Some tokens with special features (like transfer hooks) may not be burnable.
- Try single token burns: Burn one token at a time to identify if a specific token is causing issues.
- Check for freeze authority: Some tokens have a freeze authority that prevents burning. These are automatically excluded.
- Wait and retry: During network congestion, wait 5-10 minutes and try again.
Important: Burned tokens cannot be recovered. Double-check the token name and amount before confirming.
Why tokens are protected:
We automatically protect tokens that:
- Are widely used stablecoins (USDC, USDT, etc.)
- Have significant monetary value
- Are part of the Solana native ecosystem (SOL, wSOL)
- Have special transfer restrictions
How to burn protected tokens:
- Click the "Show Protected Tokens" option in the burner settings.
- Carefully review the list - these tokens are protected for a reason.
- If you're certain, select the token and confirm the burn.
- For extra safety, burn a small test amount first.
Note: We recommend reclaiming SOL first before burning tokens. This ensures you recover all possible value from your wallet.
Reclaim SOL Troubleshooting
Issues with reclaiming locked SOL from unused accounts? Find solutions here.
Why this happens:
Even with zero token balance, accounts may have:
- Withheld transfer fees (common with Token-2022)
- Confidential transfers that need clearing
- Active delegation that must be revoked
- Dust amounts (fractional tokens)
Solutions:
- Wait for automatic handling: Our advanced scanner automatically detects and handles most Token-2022 fee issues. Give it 30 seconds.
- Check for delegation: If the account is delegated to a stake pool, revoke the delegation first in your wallet.
- Use the SOL burner first: For accounts with dust amounts, burn the remaining tokens first, then reclaim the SOL.
- Try manual refresh: Click "Re-scan Wallet" to update the account status.
- Check Solana Explorer: Verify the account truly has zero balance on Solana Explorer.
Pro Tip: Token-2022 accounts often have hidden fees. Our system automatically harvests these when possible.
Why this happens:
This message appears when:
- All your token accounts have balances
- All empty accounts have already been closed
- You're looking at the wrong wallet
Solutions:
- Check for non-empty accounts: Use the SOL burner to remove tokens from accounts with small balances.
- Verify wallet connection: Ensure you're connected to the wallet you want to clean.
- Look for hidden accounts: Some wallets create temporary accounts. Our deep scan finds these.
- Check recent activity: If you recently closed accounts, they may already be processed.
- Try a different RPC: Some RPC endpoints may not show all accounts. Our system uses multiple endpoints for reliability.
Note: Each empty token account holds approximately 0.002 SOL in rent. Even 50 accounts could mean 0.1 SOL waiting to be reclaimed!
Why this happens:
You need SOL for transaction fees before you can reclaim the rent deposit.
Solutions:
- Check your SOL balance: Maintain at least 0.001 SOL in your wallet for fees.
- Understand the costs: Each account closure costs ~0.000005 SOL in network fees.
- Close in batches: Select 10-20 accounts at a time to manage fees.
- Calculate your savings: Each reclaimed account gives you ~0.002 SOL, which covers 400x the transaction fee!
- Get more SOL: If you're completely out, you'll need to acquire some from an exchange first.
Pro Tip: The reclaimed SOL will be sent to your wallet after the transaction confirms. You'll see the balance increase immediately.
Wallet Connection Problems
Can't connect your Phantom or Solflare wallet? Here's how to fix it.
Common causes:
- Wallet extension not installed or unlocked
- Browser cache/cookies interfering
- Ad blockers or privacy extensions
- Outdated wallet or browser
Step-by-step solutions:
- Verify wallet installation: Ensure Phantom or Solflare is installed and unlocked in your browser.
- Refresh the page: Sometimes a simple refresh fixes connection issues.
- Check network settings: Make sure your wallet is set to Mainnet-beta (not Devnet or Testnet).
- Clear browser cache: Go to your browser settings and clear cache/cookies, then try again.
- Disable extensions: Temporarily disable ad blockers (uBlock, AdBlock) and privacy extensions.
- Try a different browser: Chrome, Firefox, or Edge work best with Phantom.
- Update your wallet: Ensure your Phantom/Solflare extension is up to date.
- Check wallet permissions: In your wallet settings, ensure Solana Cleaner has connection permissions.
Important: We never ask for your private key or seed phrase. If a site does, it's a scam.
Why this matters:
Solana Cleaner only works with Mainnet-beta. Devnet and Testnet accounts won't appear.
How to fix:
- Check your wallet: Open your Phantom/Solflare extension and verify the network.
- Switch to Mainnet: If you're on Devnet or Testnet, switch to Mainnet-beta in your wallet settings.
- Refresh the page: After switching networks, refresh Solana Cleaner to see your Mainnet accounts.
- Verify your balance: Devnet SOL has no real value. Make sure you're working with real funds on Mainnet.
Note: Our SOL burner and reclaim features only work with Mainnet accounts. Testnet is for development only.
Why this happens:
Most wallets auto-disconnect after a period of inactivity for security.
Solutions:
- Reconnect when prompted: Simply click "Connect Wallet" again when you see the disconnect message.
- Check wallet settings: Some wallets have auto-lock timers. Adjust these in your wallet extension settings.
- Update your wallet: Older versions may have connection stability issues.
- Try a different wallet: If one wallet keeps disconnecting, try another (e.g., switch from Phantom to Solflare).
- Disable sleep mode: Some browsers put tabs to sleep. Disable this for the Solana Cleaner tab.
Pro Tip: For long sessions, pin the Solana Cleaner tab in your browser to prevent it from being closed accidentally.
Transaction Problems
Transactions failing or stuck? Here's how to resolve common issues.
Common causes for both burning and reclaiming:
- Insufficient SOL for fees
- Network congestion
- RPC endpoint issues
- Account state changed
Solutions:
- Check SOL balance: You need at least 0.000005 SOL per transaction. For multiple operations, maintain 0.001 SOL.
- Try smaller batches: If closing many accounts, try 10-20 at a time.
- Check network status: Visit status.solana.com for outages.
- Wait and retry: During congestion, wait 5-10 minutes and try again.
- Change RPC endpoint: Our system uses multiple endpoints, but you can try a different one in your wallet settings.
- Verify account status: The account may have changed since scanning. Click "Re-scan Wallet" and try again.
Note: Failed transactions don't cost you anything - the fees are only deducted if the transaction succeeds.
Why this happens:
Solana transactions usually confirm in 5-30 seconds, but can take longer during congestion.
Solutions:
- Check the transaction: Click the transaction link in the confirmation modal to view it on Solscan.
- Wait for confirmation: Give it at least 2-3 minutes during normal network conditions.
- Check Solscan: Go to Solscan.io and paste your transaction signature.
- If confirmed but not updated: Refresh the Solana Cleaner page. Sometimes the UI needs a refresh.
- If failed: Check the error message on Solscan for specific details.
Pro Tip: Bookmark this Solscan link: https://solscan.io/tx/ + your transaction signature.
Account Closing Problems
Issues specifically related to closing token accounts and reclaiming SOL.
Why this happens:
This error typically means the account state has changed since scanning.
Solutions:
- Refresh the analysis: Click "Re-scan Wallet" to get the latest account status.
- Try one at a time: Instead of bulk closing, try closing accounts individually.
- Check for recent changes: If you've made other transactions, the account may no longer be in a closable state.
- Token-2022 handling: Some Token-2022 accounts need special processing. Our system handles this automatically in most cases.
- Wait and retry: Sometimes blockchain state needs a moment to sync. Wait 30 seconds and try again.
Note: This error is usually temporary. The account may become closable after a short wait.
Prevention & Best Practices
Avoid common issues by following these pro tips for using Solana Cleaner's burn and reclaim features.
Maintain SOL Balance
Always keep at least 0.001 SOL in your wallet for transaction fees. Remember: you need SOL before you can reclaim more SOL from empty accounts.
Regular Wallet Maintenance
Clean your wallet every 3-6 months to prevent dust token accumulation. This keeps your wallet fast and your SOL accessible.
Use Reliable RPC Endpoints
For best results, use well-known RPC providers. Our system automatically selects the best available endpoint for scanning and transactions.
Mobile Wallet Tips
If using mobile wallets, ensure your app is updated. Some mobile browsers have limitations with wallet connections.
Verify Before Burning
Before using our SOL burner, double-check the token name and amount. Burned tokens cannot be recovered - reclaim SOL first when possible.
Monitor Network Conditions
Check Solana Network Status before major operations. Avoid peak congestion times.
